WHAT EXACTLY IS A "TECH SMART AGENT" AND WHY SHOULD I CARE? I coined the term Tech Smart Agent because I wanted my clients to take comfort in knowing that they are dealing with someone with extensive experience in technology. The real estate business has been significantly impacted by technology in the last few years and that trend is going to continue for some time yet. As such, working with an agent who understands the Internet, online advertising, social networking, and systems automation, will give you a significant advantage when it comes to buying or selling real estate. To see what I mean, please click here. As well, if you are really the curious type, you can read more about me and the Internet company that I founded in 2001 and sold in 2008.

San Diego County is nestled in the bottom left corner of the US and boasts one of the most perfect climates on earth. There are numerous communities in San Diego County beginning on the coast and stretching inland. Among the most popular communities in North County are Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff, and La Jolla.
Encinitas is a coastal city in northern San Diego County, California, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 58,014. It is located about 25 miles (40 km) north of San Diego, and about 95 miles (153 km) south of Los Angeles.
The city was incorporated in 1986 from the communities of historic Encinitas, new Encinitas (Village Park, etc.), Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Olivenhain, California. These communities retain their identities, and their distinctive flavors.
The largest single industry is the growing of ornamental flowers, particularly poinsettias.
Cardiff-by-the-Sea, usually referred to as Cardiff, is a beach community located between Encinitas and Solana Beach in San Diego County, California. The Pacific Ocean is to the west of Cardiff, Encinitas on its east and north, and a beach and lagoon on its south. With a population of under 12,000, Cardiff-by-the-Sea operates as part of the city of Encinitas, but has its own ZIP code (92007), unlike the other communities that comprise parts of Encinitas: Leucadia and Olivenhain.
In 1911, this former farming community began to develop Cardiff, when developer J. Frank Cullen broke ground to build new homes. It is reported by the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce that it was Frank Cullen's wife, a native of Cardiff, Wales, who persuaded him to name the community, "Cardiff." Many streets in Cardiff bear names this English-born landowner grew up with in his native UK. The names of, "Birmingham," "Oxford," "Chesterfield" and "Manchester" are major streets in this city.
Carlsbad is a seaside resort city in the North County section of San Diego County, California, United States. The 2009 population was estimated by the California Department of Finance to be 104,652.[2] Carlsbad was incorporated in 1952, in large part to generate sufficient funding to connect with the water pipeline running through San Diego County, but also to avoid being annexed by Oceanside. It is one of the highest-income places in the country.
The city has drafted ordinances protecting sensitive wildlife habitat, becoming one of the first municipalities in the State of California to do so. The city has also pledged to protect a specified amount of land within the city limits from development of any kind and spends significant funds to restore habitats destroyed by newer development projects.
Carlsbad is located between the major cities of San Diego and Los Angeles. Its coastal location, scenic beauty, low population density, thriving commercial sector, abundance of upscale housing, and high performing school districts have made Carlsbad one of the most expensive housing markets in the United States. Land is also at a premium; as such, real estate commands prices high even by Southern California standards, with median home prices in the $1,000,000's in 2007.
Solana Beach is a city in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 12,979 at the 2000 census. Until 1923, the main area known as Solana Beach was originally called Lockwood Mesa.
The area first settled by the George H. Jones family in 1886. When Lake Hodges Dam was built in 1917-18, the area encompassing Solana Beach began to develop rapidly. The creation of the 12,000-acre (49 km2) Santa Fe Irrigation District in 1918 ensured that the area from Rancho Santa Fe through Solana Beach would prosper and expand. The coastline from Solana Beach to Oceanside began to boom in the early 1920s. In 1922 Colonel Ed Fletcher, an early community leader and developer, purchased 140 acres (0.57 km2) at $20 per acre from farmer George H. Jones to develop the town of Solana Beach, with the help of his brother-in-law Eugene Batchelder. To provide access to the beach for the development, hydraulic water pressure was used to erode away tons of earth and create the Fletcher Cove entry and beach. This took one man three months with a fire hose, using water that was coming over the spillway at Lake Hodges Dam. The beach was opened with great fanfare including horse races on the beach on July 4, 1925.
Del Mar is an upscale beach town in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 4,389 at the 2000 census. The San Diego County Fair is hosted on the Del Mar Fairgrounds every summer. Del Mar is Spanish for "of the sea" or "by the sea", because it is located near the Pacific Ocean. Colonel Jacob Taylor purchased 338 acres (1.37 km2) from Enoch Talbert in 1885, with visions of building a seaside resort for the rich and famous.
La Jolla (pronounced /ləˈhɔɪ.ə/ lə-HOY-ə) is a wealthy seaside resort community, occupying seven miles of curving coastline along the Pacific Ocean in Southern California. Although within the city limits of San Diego, California, La Jolla retains its own small-town atmosphere and its own civic pride.[citation needed] Home to roughly 42,808 residents, La Jolla is defined on three sides[citation needed] by its rugged coastline of ocean bluffs and beaches, backed by steep canyons and hillsides culminating at Mount Soledad. Located twelve miles north of Downtown San Diego, and 40 miles south of Orange County California, La Jolla is probably best known for its beautiful weather year round with an average daily temperature of 70.5 °F (21.4 °C) making this area a tourist hotspot. In addition, La Jolla is well known for its elite shopping and dining, with upscale boutiques, import shops, and gourmet restaurants lining Prospect Street.
